DUTCH OVEN CONTEST

Dutch Oven cooking is a time honored tradition. Southern Utah was settled by pioneers cooking from a cast iron pot. Dutch Oven cooking remains a coveted skill and enjoyable pastime.

Contest Information

This year we will have four categories:

  1. Best Side
  2. Best Main
  3. Best Dessert
  4. Best Overall

We will provide:

  • Charcoal to cook on
  • Cups to portion each serving (300 3oz serving – don’t let that scare you it’s only about 3-4 ovens per dish)
  • Two tables to serve on
  • $350 to help go towards your expenses (you must participate in all four categories to get $350)

Each category voted for by our very own community during the Tasting Event. Dish winners will receive a $150 cash prize and the overall winner will receive $200 cash prize. 

Remember you don’t have to be a professional, just someone out to have a good time with some good folks!

Tasting Information

Help us determine the Dutch Oven champions! To participate and experience delicious dutch oven cooking, the cost is $5.00 a ticket. 

Please keep in mind each dish will be served one at a time. 

Example: If there are 5 teams you sample all 5 main dishes, followed by lining up 30 minutes later for the next dish, etc.

Schedule: Purchase tickets from 11:15 am to 12:30 pm or until sold out
